Eagle Building Systems to help build low-cost housing in Puerto Rico

Boca Raton, Fla.-based Eagle Building Technologies Inc., a manufacturer of cost-effective building materials and systems, announced it is partnering with Salinas Developers Group Inc. and several local contractors to construct large-scale affordable housing in Puerto Rico.

Phase I will consist of approximately 5000 homes in Salinas and Guayama. The homes will range in size from 900 to 1000 square feet. The Salinas Group maintains a housing list of more than 1500 buyers in Salinas alone who are pre-approved with FHA- and Banco de Vivienda de Puerto Rico-backed mortgages to purchase these homes.

Eagle will make 500 of the homes available at cost to the Department of Housing of Puerto Rico for families that otherwise would not qualify for government-backed mortgages. (Inman News Features)
